Deaf/Deafening Music

Much has been said.Much more has been listened to.But it never ends. And end,it won't.

Having a look at the last word of the topic itself, one might feel,"Man! Again someone is here to repeat those lines we've been listening to,since the age when pigs used to fly."["Music is in my blood. No,in my veins.I can't do without it.Its my lifeline. Its everything to me.-->okay.I don't intend to bug You,the reader, with such we-all-know-that-very-well stuffs]

To start off with our very own,Wiki ji.He says, "Music is an art form consisting of sound and silence."

Sound consists of waves. Our ear has been given the ability to receive them, too.(thanks to tympanum sahib) How they change into impulses and who receives it,is something we all are aware of.

Silence might be taken as a form of expression. And no human present on this Earth, lacks it.

We know it doesn't need any definition,as such. But in technical terms, that is what it is.

So,how does it alter your life? you just managed to receive some form of enlightenment?

Ask His creations like Evelyn Glennie,Shawn Dale Barnett,Beethoven.

God might have been a bit mean, not to gift them with the most-wanted capacity, just mentioned above. But they surely believed,"One step backward,Two steps forward".I just read an article, where a music teacher was hired by the school for deaf people.Ofcourse,he was surprised.[How are we to explain the evolution of music from Bach to the Beatles to someone who cannot hear their works? ] Erm,He must've thought of Beethoven.[He started to lose hearing at 30 and even thought of a way to end his lifeless life.Reminds me of Caius Cassius who is said to hate music.Beethoven could have asked him to lent his ear.But.He made use of his 'inner ear' and composed well known symphonies.]The teacher was told that those deaf students love dancing at discos. They feel the vibrations.Melody might be their Achilles heel but rhythm was on their side.Since rhythm is considered an artistic expression, the teacher knew..there was large scope for them students in this not-so-alien-like field. He kept experimenting. He even succeeded. And that was a creative alternative to one such limitation.Well, hats off to the man who quoted this.

"Lack of hope is founded upon what we know, which is nothing, and hope is based upon what we ignore, which is everything" --Maurice Maeterlinck."

This is one side of the story.Er,much more of a reality.Which knew how to bite, some time back. But there are individuals who have shown us its first-aid,too.Matter,how does it?

Well,it does..when I just witness the reverse of it.That is,the transition of Deaf to Deafening music today.

This time,God isn't mean enough to not bless us with 'that' ability. But we are too saucy,to challenge him by continuing to destroy the same.

It's now clear that noise pollution has taken a toll on us.Too many evenings spent at the pub might damage your cochlear nerves. One could also suffer from a ringing sensation or pain in the ear, headache, dizziness or annoyance. For instance,DJ Clement has been into ‘partying hard’ for the past 10 years, of which six years he’s spent DJing. “I have some hearing loss. Friends tell me I’m too loud, especially on the phone. It’s worse for my right ear,” he says.My own cousin is in contact with loud[I mean, very loud music] music[more of a noise which he loves now] 22 hours a day.He says,"I am addicted. But,it is pleasing"

THAT might be an unwanted guest,to people like Ravi Shankar or Nusrat Fateh Ali ji.But it is again considered 'kewl and hip-hop' by many.

I was forced to write this, because I managed to read two 'very' different articles just at the same time.I admired people like Beethoven but couldn't blame my cousin too.He hates people like Kailash,Aatif,Lucky Ali,A.R. Rehman. He scratches his head, when he hears of names like 'Madan Mohan'.But why,I still can't blame him.He says I am stupid because nothing goes into my head once he starts talking about his death metal and stuff. :

He can 'only' sleep if a stereo is blaring right next to him.He is proud of that.

For now,I am quite happy listening to 'Saiyaan' by Kailash Kher.

I can imagine someone singing it when he has discovered his wings.Yes,he is all set to fly.

and did I say,

I could also listen to it,'22' hours a day.
